Outline

The Dental Society of the Nippon Dental University is an academic organization open to instructors, graduate students, and alumni of the university. The society arranges scientific conferences and seminars, presents research, and publishes journals and reports to encourage advances in the field of dentistry and to promote the university's development.

List of Publications

Odontology

  • First published in July 1949 under the title Shigaku, this annual journal presents a selection of research papers.

    Odontology is an English-language journal for publishing international research. The successor to the Japanese-language Shigaku (Odontology), the first issue appeared in 2001. Since 2006 it has been available in the most authoritative international online academic database, Web of Science. The number of dentistry-related journals covered by this database is only about 60, with two being Japanese, Dental Materials Journal and Odontology. Odontology is also included in America's National Library of Medicine's database, Medline. As an academic journal, Odontology is widely respected.

THE NIPPON DENTAL UNIVERSITY NEWSLETTER

  • First published in April 1948, this tabloid is issued eight times a year, and the over 580 issues to date are an invaluable historical record of the university. An annual omnibus edition is produced in a reduced format.
